The Gallery Natsuhiko Online Collection of modern Japanese fine art prints presents a rare opportunity for connoiseurs, collectors and the curious to purchase for pleasure or investment some of the finest examples of the modern Japanese printmaker's art.
The
Online Collection focuses on the so-called sosaku
style prints of the
late twentieth century. These works introduce a departure from
the somewhat stereotypical delicate landscapes and female
portraits of
traditional Japanese print-making, to a more vibrant, confident and
expressive form.
The prints included here bear the hallmark of a Western abstract influence on the traditional Japanese artform and exemplify the attempts of a new generation of artists to develop and broaden the genre.
